Vuarnet Announces Boramy Viguier as Creative Director

September 23, 2021, Paris, France. Vuarnet is pleased to announce the appointment of Boramy Viguier as Creative Director, effective immediately.

Boramy studied fashion at Central Saint Martins, London. After working with Craig Green and Alexander McQueen, he joined the Lanvin Homme design studio in 2013. He launched his own brand in 2018 and his collections are highly regarded by critics and retailers. In 2019, he was a finalist for the ANDAM Prize. After a few seasons, he developed a dreamlike aesthetic with medieval influences and where the worlds of technical and utilitarian clothing collide.

For Vuarnet, Boramy Viguier will be responsible for expanding the brand's clothing offering and designing its sports and lifestyle eyewear collections. He will be responsible for the design of two lines: the first dedicated to technical mountain clothing, the second, entitled 1957, made entirely in France and drawing inspiration from the archives of the house.

“My first meeting with Boramy Viguier was scheduled for 45 minutes, but actually lasted 3 hours. I immediately felt that Boramy fully understood the intrinsic values of the brand through his deep love of the mountains and that he’d know how to translate the Vuarnet spirit of excellence. His talent, creativity, and vision will allow Vuarnet to renew itself during this high growth period”, says David Belhassen, CEO of Vuarnet.

"Vuarnet is a legendary French house with which I have a sentimental relationship. Its heritage and know-how make it a benchmark in the mountain world. I like that this brand has had a privileged relationship with historical personalities such as Miles Davis, Romy Schneider, Jeff Bridges in The Big LebowskiGearing up the great mountaineering pros at the same timeand Jean Vuarnet, a colorful, fascinating character, and a legend in the history of skiing. I am passionate about the mountains and I am very happy to be able to continue Vuarnet’s legacy and breathe new life into the house. I am looking forward to making garments and sunglasses that will serve a function. For me, Vuarnet represents the French mountains, a poetic and hedonistic alpine art of living, one that appeals to transcendence and contemplation” explains Boramy Viguier.

The first collections designed by Boramy Viguier for Vuarnet are available starting from today online on vuarnet.com and on our New York boutique. New items will drop in october.
