Dylan Ladd

My name is Dylan Ladd and I am a member of the U.S. Pro Halfpipe Team. I have been skiing since I was 3 years old and started competing at the age of 10. I learned to ski and compete at Winter Park, Colorado, which will always be considered my home mountain. In December 2023, I earned a degree in Business Marketing from the University of Colorado at Boulder, but I am going to hold off on using it for a while because skiing is really great right now. Anything that happens outdoors excites me, but a good TV series or movie can keep me at home. At the moment, I am studying to become a private pilot and I would like to learn Spanish, but I am "no bueno" at it. Really bad at Spanish, could someone teach me?

What is your motto?

Sweat the small stuff

What is your favorite place on Earth?

Wanaka, New Zealand. It’s absolutely gorgeous there and have yet to go to another place that has so many different climates in one place.

Why do you do what you do?

Skiings like this crazy dream where you can picture the scariest scenario imaginable and feel completely calm and weightless. It brings me a rush like nothing else.

What is your favorite virtue?

Self-discipline.

What is your biggest fear?

Spiders.

Are you afraid of death?

I don’t think so, I stare it right in the face a 100 times a year and I still keep coming back for more.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Getting 2nd at 2018 Jr. World Championships. I had crashed all of training and was going against some of the best guys, even to this day, and managed to compose myself to land a great run.
